|
STEP 1: GROOVE
CUT OR TORN AREA
MIN. 1/2"
To weld ONE side only |
|
 |
RIGHT
WRONG
Use aluminum body repair tape to hold cut or tear in place.
NOTE: To weld both sides - quick cool weld with water or air -
remove aluminum tape - groove and weld other side. |
| |
| STEP 2: INSERT
ROD IN TIP
Gently force the rod
into the melt tube located on the welder tip - when you see melted
plastic come out around the edge of the welder tip - slowly
- begin to move the welder tip in the desired direction of weld.
Continue to force welding rod into tip as you feel it melt. Be
sure to completely fill groove with melted plastic. |
|

|
| NOTE: Be sure to hold
flat shoe part of tip completely flat against material to be
welded, so that the tip bridges across the groove. |
| |
| STEP 3: SMOOTH
OUT WELD
Use flat shoe of tip to
smooth out weld to desired contour. |
 |
| NOTE: To fill
cavities in padded dash covers and hard to reach areas, rotate
welder so that the flat part of the tip is facing up. Slowly feed
welding rod through tip as it melts. When cavity is filled, rotate
tip and smooth out with flat part of tip. |
